Texas has seemingly endless gravel roads, but unless you know where you're going or know someone who can guide you along the way, it's tough to know where to start. Based out of Stephenville, TX, RIDE GRVL has plenty of verified, safe, and stunningly beautiful gravel routes throughout north central Texas and the Cross Timbers region.
NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS GRAVEL ROUTES
Here are some of the areas we've created routes. Most, if not all, routes are verified and complete; however, it's ultimately up to you to use your best judgement when riding your bike on these routes.
Lingleville, Texas Gravel Routes
Just a short drive from the DFW metroplex, Abilene, and Waco, Lingleville, Texas has some of the most iconic gravel biking routes anywhere in Texas. Only a 10-mile drive west of Stephenville, Lingleville is home to the Lingleville Country Store--a charming store with a full-service coffee bar including the best third-wave coffee in Erath County as well as homemade cheesecake, pie, muffins, and unique lunch options.

STEPHENVILLE ROUTES
Routes starting in Stephenville.
The county seat of Erath County, Stephenville has all of the amenities for the traveling cyclist. We've put together routes starting and finishing in Stephenville from the Cowboy Capital Walk of Fame off of the downtown square.
LINGLEVILLE ROUTES
Routes starting from the Lingleville Country Store.
Only about 10 miles west of Stephenville is the unincorporated town of Lingleville. Situated at one of the highest elevation points in the area and in the middle of ranch and dairy country, there are countless potential gravel routes and the best coffee in the whole area!
CROSS TIMBERS ROUTES

This section of Texas, known locally as the Cross Timbers, truly is a melting point of geography, flora, and cultures. Our route library stretches into the tips of the Texas Hill Country through Hico, Glen Rose, Meridian, and Iredell.
